Welcome to my new blog! I thought it was about time to get back into blogging as I used to enjoy it so much.

As the title of the blog suggests, my name is Sarah and I’m a beader from South Wales, UK. I love seed beads and all the wonderful colours they come in, I enjoy making bead soup and using them in bead embroidery and I have recently completely fallen in love with the versatility of CRAW and the structures that can be created with it.

To kick off, here’s a pic of my Battle of the Beadsmith piece, Architecture Cuff: Atlantis. I had a right mare with this years BOTB design, my muse just was not cooperating at all. This was my 6th design attempt started just 2 weeks before the deadline! The bracelet base started with a vague notion of Celtic interlaced designs and I then incorporated ideas from my first craft of 3D decoupage to build up the layers.

I really loved making this piece and am looking forward to working with CRAW more in the future.

Happy beading!

Sarah

  1. As you know, I have loved craw stitch and the different shapes and designs that can be made with it for a few years. 4 bead craw is my go to stitch for beaded ropes as I have a rhythm down and can work it up fairly quickly now.

I too have sadly been very lax with my blog. I have made notes of so many things I wanted to blog about and life kinda gets in the way and I have totally forgotten about it.

Keep up the blogtastic posts. Looking forward to reading them.

    1. Thank you Carol! I’m should have listened to you sooner and tried CRAW much earlier lol!

Life gets so busy that it’s easy to let go of things we like such as blogging. I know my inspiration completely dried up for a while, and you have had so much going on over the last few years xxx. I must say that this post seemed much easier to set up than on Blogger though, maybe worth trying a fresh start? Xxx
